Fraught - Maiko

Wow. I never thought I would finish this one. I started it all the way back on 's birthday, because she's been such an amazing influence on the Avatar fandom-- especially the Maiko fandom-- and I wanted to do something for her. But I got really busy and forgot about it until yesterday, when I had MY birthday (20 omg) and remembered what I had started for Rawles' birthday.

So... uhm... yeah! HAPPY RIDICULOUSLY BELATED BIRTHDAY, RAWLES? <3

As most of you Maiko fans probably already know, the title of this piece is a reference to one of Rawles' many coined phrases: "The Fraught Reunion of Destiny" (meaning, of course, the inevitable reunion of Mai and Zuko and the Betrayal For Love that will soon follow it).

The scene is inspired by this screenshot: [link] which appears to depict Zuko as a prisoner of the Dangerous Ladies being interrogated by Mai. My hope is that it leads to lots of hugging and kissing and crying and declarations of love and their intention to never be parted again and then Azula will come in and SOME CRAZY AMAZING FIGHT SCENE/DARING ESCAPE WILL ENSUE. fjklmfdjklfnqwfhqwo! *FLAILS*

Lineart and coloring done in MSPaint, wall and final touches done in GIMP. Poses inspired by some random anime picture I saw somewhere.
